We are almost into November, and while it may still be a bit early to be thinking about Christmas, the Lanark Lions wish to present, Letters From Santa. This is a fundraiser that was started last year where members of the Lanark Lions Club would write letters to children from Santa. All the money that was collected through this venture was sent to Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) for Childhood Cancer.
This year there will only be one change to this program. The money raised will go to the District Governor of District 1-H who is raising money for the St. Jude Facility in Peoria. What started as a simple project to raise money to furnish the waiting room with child friendly items, and provide teenagers with useful gift cards has turned into a quest of receiving an LCI matching grant to redo and update the waiting area.
