Walk To Remember

Every year on Memorial Day, the American Legion Post in Mount Carroll, IL puts on a short program on the courthouse lawn, and then the Legion and those in attendance walk from the courthouse to the cemetery (which is close to 1 mile). They walk to remember those who did not come home.

Memorial Day falls on Monday May 25th, and this year Veteran’s Evolution, Techinical School (V.E.T.S.), is sponsoring a “Walk to Remember” shirt. This shirt has the V.E.T.S. logo on the front and on the back it says I walk to remember _____________. This allows those who purchase the shirt to write in with a Sharpie or fabric marker the name of the fallen they walk for.

You don’t have to be in Mount Carroll, or come to the ceremony to be a part. All you have to do, at some point during the day, is to take a walk and remember those who paid the ultimate price.
